Making an Appointment
Our telephone lines are open from 8.00 am until 6:30 pm Monday to Friday. You have the right to request an appointment with a preferred Health care professional.
Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen, as each patient requires a separate appointment. Also let us know if you have more than one issue to discuss with the nurse or GP. You may need to make additional appointments.
You can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor. He or she will ring you at an agreed time on the telephone number you have given.
If you wish not to disclose the nature of the problem, please advise the staff that it is personal.
It is recommended that any patient over 75 years of age, or any patient who has not seen a GP in the last 3 years, should request a medical.
Tell us if you are in a telephone box, we will ring you back.
Say immediately if your call is an emergency!
Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or a private room to discuss any matters. Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.
Please make sure that you arrive on time for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late for an appointment, you may be asked to re-book.
Self Check in
Once you arrive at the surgery you can either check in with the receptionist or use the self check in which is very simple to use and is in different languages.
We can arrange interpretation and translation services in person or by telephone for patients who do not speak English. This is free. Please let us know if you need this service when booking your appointment.
Open Access Clinic -
The ‘Open Access Clinic’ is a clinic that is for people who are unwell on the day or have an urgent health need that cannot wait for a routine appointment.
Patients who telephone or attend the surgery and require an on the day appointment will be asked to attend the ‘Open Access Clinic’ on a sit and wait to be seen basis.
Please note appointment times will not be given and patients will be seen in order of attendance or urgency. All patients attending before the end of the ‘Open Access Clinic’ are guaranteed to be seen that day.
When is the ‘Open Access Clinic’ available?
Open Access clinics are held Monday to Friday in the morning, please telephone the Practice to check the times.
What conditions can be treated in the ‘Open Access Clinic’?
The ‘Open Access Clinic’ is for urgent care only and is not designed for routine reviews. Our friendly reception staff are happy to signpost patients to the most appropriate service or clinic.
Patients are requested to present with one problem or condition.
Please notify the practice as soon as possible if you cannot attend an appointment. Missed appointments are a waste of time and resources of the practice which can be used for other patients. Appointments are in constant high demand. Missed appointments increase waiting time for an appointment for all patients and reduces service availability and access for other patients.
Even if it is last minute please let us know we may be able to offer the appointment to someone else.
